Handy, an operating business of Angi Inc., has partnered with luxury real estate development company Gotham Properties to let tenants hire a Handy professional for home services work such as in-home furniture assembly, according to a Friday (April 9) announcement.
“Making home services a flexible and seamless experience is what we do best, so we’re excited to be providing our best-in-class services to match the quality and prestige of Gotham Properties,” Daniel Philbin-Bowman, head of new partnerships and growth at Handy, said in the announcement.
Those living in Gotham Properties buildings will be able to reserve a Handy Pro through the web for in-home furniture assembly, cleaning, TV mounting, smart camera installation and picture and shelf hanging, among other services.
Services have different starting prices, but prices begin at $99 for two hours for a furniture assembly reservation.
“Our partnership with Handy provides our residents with the exceptional service needed to make home improvements to their residence an easy and reliable process,” Gotham Organization CEO David L. Picket said in the announcement.
Handy also said it has put the Handy Safety Standard in place because of the pandemic to allow for a “safe environment to better serve the professionals and customers on the platform.”
“Once upon a time, Angi was an actual list of pros, and now it’s so much more than that,” Hanrahan said. “We thought it was a good time to drop that literal reference and have the name better represent what Angi has grown into.”
Beyond the new name, the firm is also relaunching its online and mobile app to encompass additional functionalities that will make it simpler to find and choose from hundreds of different services, locate nearby professionals to do the job and simply pay for them.
