AU10TIX announced Monday (April 5) in a press release that it has partnered with Microsoft for the launch of Microsoft Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) verifiable credentials.

AU10TIX brings its automated identity verification tools to Azure AD, which is in public preview, to support identity management and safe information exchange. It will help Microsoft-run organizations “issue digital claims about identity attributes based on Verifiable Credentials and Decentralized Identifiers open standards,” according to the release.

Once it issues a digital claim, those credentials can be used to verify the identity across organizations. The technology will secure app access, accelerate user onboarding and provide a safer credential recovery process, the release stated.

Identity verification is not a static procedure.

“It’s a form of continuous authentication at all points of contact across devices — from booking a trip online to picking up the rental car key to checking into the hotel,” PYMNTS reported in a February discussion with AU10TIX CEO Carey O’Connor Kolaja.

“Our vision is to provide the platform for a digital identity in which individuals have more control over what information they share and can restrict access if needed,” said Microsoft Corp. Partner Director of Program Management Sue Bohn in the release. “Collaborating with AU10TIX empowers businesses to verify information at scale while ensuring users have greater control over their personal information.”

Users of the technology will be able to manage their credentials on the Microsoft Authenticator app, and developers can request and verify credentials through an application software development kit (SDK), the release stated.

Based in Israel, AU10TIX verifies identities using neural networks in less than eight seconds, without collecting and storing personal data, according to the release.

“In a world without borders, businesses must enable more flexibility as we work, learn and collaborate remotely,” O’Connor Kolaja said in the release. “At the same time, bad actors have taken advantage of rapid digitization to grow in sophistication and agility. Now, as a Microsoft partner, we’re furthering our collaborative mission to create safer services, promote trust and seamlessly secure our everyday access to life.”
